Graduation Requirements

To earn a High School diploma, students must earn a total of 225 credits in the following courses:

Courses and Credits

• English: 40 credits (4 years)

• Mathematics: 30 credits (3 years, including Algebra I)

• Social Studies / History: 30 (3 years, including US History, World History, Government, and Economics)

• Science: 20 credits (2 years, including biological and physical science)

• Physical Education: 20 credits (2 years)

• Visual/Performing Arts or Foreign Language: 10 credits (1 year)

• Electives: Remaining credits needed to reach 225

A passing grade of “D-“ or better must be earned in all courses taken to earn credit toward graduation. A course for which a student earned a passing grade cannot be repeated for credit.
